This week in Destiny:
Welcome to the very first edition of the Community TWID!
When we first announced the D2 Community Hub, our plan was to wait until after Bungie's final TWID before beginning our own. But after seeing the incredible response to the Hub and the enthusiasm from Guardians wanting to keep this tradition alive, we decided we didn't want to wait any longer.
From here on out, we'll be bringing you a weekly look at what's happening across the Destiny community—from community events and creator spotlights to new features on our website, competitions, and everything in between.
I would like to dedicate this TWID to all of the immensely passionate employees at Bungie, and those who were hit by the recent layoffs. Your passion and dedication has shaped worlds we will remember for decades to come. You have been an inspiration to us all, and especially to us here at the Community Hub. I hope we can live up to the impossibly high expectations which have been set as we attempt to carry on the legacy of this wonderful franchise. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you.
With all of that said, welcome to the Community TWID! Let's see what we've got going on this week!
This week, our website recently underwent a big update.
The Director tab on our website is now your central hub for Community Missions and Triumphs, giving Guardians a place to discover challenges, track their progress, and claim rewards in our Discord and on our website. Alongside event-specific Triumphs, the update also introduces permanent challenges designed to give everyone more ways to engage with the Community Hub.
Completing Triumphs earns Community Triumph Score, while certain challenges reward Community Hub profile cosmetics including badges, banners, and emblems. You can also customize your profile, showcase your favorite badges, and link your Discord account to unlock Community Hub roles.
Additionally, our first wave of in game challenges have arrived through Trials of Light. We will have more on these, and the rewards you can earn from them, later in the TWID.
This is only the beginning, with more Triumphs, profile features, cosmetics, and community challenges planned for the future. We hope you're all looking forward to what our future holds!
Want to learn more about the update and everything that's changed? Read the patch notes and dev insights article here:
With the missions, triumphs and rewards systems in place here on the website, we are looking at fun challenges and rewards to hand out, with ways to engage all corners of the community!
While we plan to run big events such as Solstice of Legends, Festival of the Lost and more, we also want to run some smaller 1 week events.
We teased it previously, but we are wanting to revive the Faction Rally in some form as a recurring event. We will have more info on this closer to when it's ready, but we think it will spark some fun rivalry in the community.
Additionally, we're working on free content drops called Challenge Packs. We have a few planned to release in a big drop in the next few weeks. These will be permanent challenges available on the website and will grant you rewards to customize your D2 Community Hub profile with. Below we will go over some of the Challenge Packs we've been working on and give a sneak preview at one reward from each.
This is our standard Crucible challenge pack. It will revolve mainly around getting wins and kills in Crucible playlists.
Below is one of many emblems you'll be able to earn for your Community Hub profile in this challenge pack:
This is our Gambit challenge pack. It mainly revolves around winning matches, banking motes, and invading/shutting down invaders.
Below is one of many emblems you'll be able to earn for your Community Hub profile in this challenge pack:
This is our Trials of Osiris challenge pack. Revolving around wins and kills, but we have a special triumph planned too.
Below is one of many emblems you'll be able to earn for your Community Hub profile in this challenge pack:
This is our Iron Banner challenge pack. Yet again this one revolves around wins and kills.
Below is one of many emblems you'll be able to earn for your Community Hub profile in this challenge pack:
This is our Dares of Eternity challenge pack. This is our more casual PvE oriented challenge pack.
Below is one of many emblems you'll be able to earn for your Community Hub profile in this challenge pack:
This is our Vow of the Disciple challenge pack. We will have a good variety of challenges relating to the raid in here, with a few more aspirational goals. We have plans to release one of these for each raid and dungeon activity going forward and completing the entire collection will be a feat for the truly elite few.
Below is one of many emblems you'll be able to earn for your Community Hub profile in this challenge pack:
We hope challenge packs will offer a fun way to interact with the game and earn rewards on the Community Hub going forward. These are just the ones that we've been planning so far. There will be many more in the future, so I hope you're all looking forward to taking them on.
With Destiny 2's final update, seasonal events such as Solstice, Festival of the Lost, The Dawning and Guardian Games no longer run.
We believe these events deserve to live on in some way.
That is exactly why we're running the Solstice of Legends event. The event is active now until August 18th, so you have plenty of time to take part in the festivities!
Below, we will recap the events we're running during Solstice of Legends in case anyone has missed it.
Trials of Light is our in-game challenge event. You can track your progress and view the challenges by logging into the Community Hub with your Bungie account and going to The Director.
The challenges all involve running activities using exclusively Solstice weapons. Anyone who completes these challenges can earn rewards to customize their profile here on the website. Completing all four challenges will earn the Lightforged Legend role in our Discord as well. Below we have a full overview of the rewards you can earn here on the website.
For completing "Trials of Light I" you can earn the "Gracious Gloss" profile emblem and banner.
For completing "Trials of Light I & II" you can earn the "Gravity Axle" profile emblem and banner.
For completing "Trials of Light I, II & III" you can earn the "Fantastically Forged" profile emblem and banner.
For completing all of the Trials of Light you can earn the "Lightforged Legend" & "Sunburst" profile emblem and banner.
Gracious Gloss, Gravity Axle, Fantastically Forged and Sunburst will all return in next year's Solstice of Legends. The Lightforged Legend emblem is exclusive to this year and we will offer an alternative emblem next year though, so make sure you complete this year's Trials of Light if you want to snag it for your Community Hub profile.
During Solstice of Legends, we are running a series of TWID challenges. We will give some info on each of the challenges below. Anyone who is featured in a TWID for winning one of these solstice challenges will earn the "Renewed Triumph" profile emblem and banner for their Community Hub account.
This fashion contest is all about showing off your Solstice outfits. Make an outfit for your guardian using at least one Solstice armor piece and submit it in our Discord. We will feature our favorites in TWIDs until just after the end of the Solstice of Legends event.
Fireside Memories is all about sharing screenshots that capture the Solstice vibe. Whether it be summery locations or screenshots from old solstice events. Submit your screenshots in our Discord and we will pick our favorites to feature!
Tales of Light is all about telling your story. How did you fall in love with the Destiny franchise? Share your story in our Discord and we will feature our favorites.
We recently started a monthly series where we will be spotlighting a creator we believe is going above and beyond what is expected.
Our first Creator Spotlight shines a light on Abaddon, a Destiny creator known for his lore-focused content and popular “7 Levels” series. In our spotlight, Abaddon discusses his journey with Destiny, his creative process, the lore that inspires him, and his plans for the future of his channel.
From the stories and characters that have left the biggest impression on him to the creators who have influenced his work, Abaddon gives us an insight into the person behind the videos. He also shares his thoughts on the future of Destiny and what lies ahead for his own content.

One of the highlights of the past week was getting the opportunity to meet so many members of the Destiny community at GCX!
It's one thing to see people chatting in Discord, replying to posts, and supporting the Community Hub online. Getting to meet some of you face-to-face was something else entirely.
We had an incredible time meeting Guardians, hearing your stories, and talking about everything we're hoping to build with the Hub. The enthusiasm and support we received was genuinely incredible, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who stopped by to say hello.
Additionally, if you collected a Community Hub coin, you will be eligible to earn some cosmetics on our website. We'll have info on how to claim your rewards, such as the Fightstick Community Hub profile emblem, in the coming weeks.
To everyone we met at GCX: thank you! We hope to see many more of you at future community events.
Destiny has one of the most talented creator communities in gaming, and we want to help give those creators a place to connect, collaborate, and grow together.
That's why we're working on the D2 Community Hub Creator Program.
As part of the program, we're planning to welcome former official Destiny 2 Creators into the community as a way of recognizing the work they've already contributed. We'll also be opening applications to new creators after Solstice of Legends, giving creators of all sizes an opportunity to get involved.
The Creator Program isn't about follower counts. It's about passion, creativity, and the positive impact you have on the community.
Members will have opportunities to be featured in Community TWIDs and on our social channels, collaborate on community projects and events, connect with other creators, and much more.
Additionally, to reduce confusion, we are renaming the Creators of the Light role which was given to current and former Bungie staff to Architects of the Light. We think this name is better suited to those who helped shape the Destiny universe, and will remove any confusion when we roll out the creator role soon.
Want to learn more about the program and what we're looking for? Read the full Creator Program article below:
We're at the point in the TWID where we showcase how creative the community can truly get! This week, as a special for our first ever Community TWID, we will be featuring double winners in our Movie of the Week and Art of the Week categories!
If you didn't win this week, don't be discouraged! You can always keep submitting entries.
Before we move onto this week's winners, we'd like to showcase the rewards people can snag for their Community Hub profiles by winning these TWID showcases.
There will always be two rewards for winning any of our permanent TWID categories. An annual reward, which changes each year, and a permanent reward, which will be granted upon winning in the category for the first time that year.
Annual rewards aren't lost to time forever though. Winning an "of the Week" category twice in the same year will allow you to earn a reward from a previous year if you don't already own it. Of course, this is just the first year of the Community Hub, so this won't apply until we reach 2027.
It is worth noting, these are not in-game emblems. These are exclusively for your D2 Community Hub profile. We cannot grant emblems in Destiny 2 itself, so we think this is a pretty nice alternative.
Here is the permanent Movie of the Week emblem, earned for your Community Hub account upon your first win in the category:

As part of our Community TWIDs, we offer a rotating category which exists to showcase all corners of creativity in the Destiny community. This week's is Build of the Week, next week's is Guide/Infographic of the week. We have info in the TWID each week about what the next three weeks of categories are.
Of course, we show this category the same love we would any other category, so it has a permanent and annual reward set as well.

As one final bonus, Mactics has kindly offered up a deck of his subclass themed playing cards to the winners of Art of the Week and Movie of the Week for both this Community TWID and the next one!
It was very kind of Mactics to offer these as an additional incentive, so please go and show him some love! Good luck with your submissions for the next TWID, and well done to this week's winners!

Whether you're a new Guardian, returning after years away, or simply looking to experience Destiny's story from beginning to end, The Lore Map of Destiny is here to help.
Created by a member of our community, Jessie (EraMiss), this free resource provides a comprehensive guide to Destiny's story, helping Guardians navigate the game's twisting narrative and the content that has been vaulted over the years. The map has even been reviewed and verified by our resident lore expert MyNameIsByf.
Her website comes with a Getting Started guide to introduce the systems for accessing quests and activities in game. It also features the flagship Lore Map, a comprehensive overview of Destiny's story from Destiny 1 through Shadowkeep. It also has a Critical Progression Route covering the story from Shadowkeep onward. The route brings together quests, activities, vaulted seasons, cutscenes, and key story moments to help you experience Destiny's narrative in chronological order.
The Lore Map is available in English and Korean, making it an excellent resource for Guardians looking to catch up on the journey so far or dive deeper into the lore behind the worlds we explore.
We're excited to partner with Lowman for community events, notifications, and more!
If you've ever wanted to experience your favourite Destiny raid in a completely new way, Lowman is the place to start. The Lowman community brings Guardians together to learn how to tackle raids with smaller fireteams, including Solo, Duo, and Trio clears.
With a community of over 22,000 members, Lowman has always placed a strong emphasis on making the lowman experience accessible to everyone. Whether you're completely new to lowman raiding or already have experience under your belt, there's a place for you.
Lowman University is designed to help introduce new players to the world of lowman raiding. Through the program, experienced professors across 10+ raids are available to teach students the strategies, techniques, and knowledge needed to tackle these challenges.
Classes are completely free and open to everyone, from beginners with little or no lowman experience to more experienced Guardians looking to take their skills to the next level.
The current promotional event runs until August 14th, but classes won't stop there. Professors who continue to host classes will remain available after the event, while Lowman's team continues to develop and update its curriculum.
Whether you've always wanted to learn how to Duo a raid, take on your first Trio, or eventually attempt a Solo, Lowman University is ready to welcome you.
Class is in session, Guardians. 🎓
Ever since the DCV was introduced back in Beyond Light, many activities and destinations were sunset, never to be accessed again... Until now! Allow me to introduce you all to PROJECT SUNRISE!
Stanuwu and a few others have been working on a mod for a Shadowkeep build of the game to allow players to load in and explore activities and destinations in a sort of "explorer" mode. No enemies or mechanics will load in, so all you can do is explore, but this is a huge breakthrough.
This effort is parallel to efforts being made in the What Remains Discord server. For the first time ever, a guardian has been able to walk around in these cut spaces that those at What Remains had found. Below we have some examples:
Cut EDZ shard bubble
This is a HUGE acomplishment which deserves to be celebrated.
Once the project is fully released, you will be able to explore the Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind and Forsaken campaign maps and destinations which were previously lost to time. Really exciting stuff, I can't wait to explore it myself!
There is no publicly available version for the Project Sunrise yet, however you can learn more about Project Sunrise and keep up to date with the progress of the project, which will become free and open source upon completion, over on their GitHub page here.

Every Guardian helps keep the Community Hub alive.
And that's a wrap on the very first Community TWID!
We've had an incredible launch here at the D2 Community Hub, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us, joined the Discord, submitted their creations, participated in Solstice of Legends, or simply stopped by to see what we're all about. The response has been far beyond what we could have hoped for.
I would like to give a quick thanks to the incredible team we have working behind the scenes here. What started as a simple idea to continue the weekly TWID, has grown into something far greater. It isn't something I could've done alone.
Remember, this is only the beginning. We're excited to continue building the Hub alongside you, bringing Guardians together through community events, showcases, new features, and plenty of surprises we're keeping close to our chest.
We'll be back next week at the same time with another Community TWID, including more community creations, event updates, and everything happening across the Community Hub.
Until then- Eyes up, Guardians.
