This week in Destiny:
Our very own Community Festival of the Lost is coming soon, and we're very excited for you all to experience it!
We'll be running some Haunted fashion contests and featuring some pumpkin carving in upcoming TWIDs, so please keep an eye on our Discord for more information regarding that.
As a reminder, anyone who pledges at any tier on our Patreon during Festival of the Lost will unlock permanent access to the Haunted Supporter emblem.
Topher has kindly prepared a large collection of emblems and banners for people to earn during the event. We'd like to preview some below:
We will have plenty of emblems and banners available for your Community Profile, which can all be earned through the event hub. This was covered in our previous TWID, and more in-depth in the recent Dev Insights article.
Earlier this week, ChaosCantrip released a Dev Insights article going over the brand new Event Hub which will be debuting during Festival of the Lost.
As you can see in the video below, we have a LOT of cool features planned.
If you'd like to read all about it, please check out the article below:
With Bungie’s announcement regarding the future of the Destiny franchise and the return of previously vaulted content, a new wave of Guardians are preparing to enter the fight—or return to the front lines.
However, with years of story developments, seasonal narratives, and activities spread across Destiny 1 and Destiny 2, understanding where to begin can be a challenge. The removal of past seasonal content has also left gaps in the story for New Lights and returning Guardians alike.
That’s where The Lore Map of Destiny (TLMoD) comes in.
Created as an all-in-one story and activity guide, TLMoD aims to bridge the gap between currently playable content and missing seasonal narratives, helping Guardians understand the events that shaped the Destiny universe and experience the story in a more cohesive order.
Destiny’s story spans years of campaigns, characters, factions, and interconnected conflicts. The Lore Map condenses the major events from Destiny 1’s The Dark Below through Destiny 2’s Forsaken into a single, expansive mind map.
Available to download for free at 20,000 × 10,000 resolution, the map has also been reviewed by My Name Is Byf.
Designed to provide the foundations of Destiny’s universe, it covers:
The goal is simple: help Guardians understand the who, what, and why behind Destiny’s story without having to dig through years of lore before starting their next campaign.
The mind map covers the story through Forsaken and is designed to avoid spoilers for content beginning with Shadowkeep.
The Critical Progression Route provides a comprehensive checklist of story progression, spanning Destiny 1 through the Monument of Triumph. Every activity covered by the guide is categorized, allowing Guardians to search for a specific mission or activity and identify the expansion or season it originally belonged to.
Rather than simply directing players toward hours of recap videos, the route prioritizes playing the game wherever the content is still available.
Here's how it works:
The result is a single reference point for understanding where activities fit into Destiny's larger narrative, what can still be played, and what story moments may otherwise be missing.
The Destiny Content Vault has affected how players experience the game's story. New Lights may encounter characters, locations, and conflicts without understanding the events that introduced them. Returning Guardians may find themselves jumping back into the game after several expansions, only to discover that important seasonal developments happened while they were away.
TLMoD was created specifically to help address that gap.
For new players, it provides enough background to understand the universe before experiencing its campaigns firsthand. For returning players, it offers a way to reconnect with the story and catch up on significant developments without having to reconstruct the timeline from scratch.
The Lore Map of Destiny is not intended to replace the original campaigns or seasonal experiences.
Instead, it serves as a companion resource—a way to provide the context needed to make those experiences more meaningful.
By keeping the recaps focused on essential information, the project aims to avoid spoiling too many details about the events, locations, and discoveries that players can still experience for themselves.
TLMoD will continue to evolve alongside Destiny.
When previously vaulted content returns, the guide will be updated accordingly, with work beginning on Day One of release to help keep the information current.
Even with the return of older campaigns and seasonal content, the project will continue to serve two important purposes.
First, the mind map will remain a convenient, all-in-one recap of Destiny's foundational story, characters, factions, and relationships.
Second, the Critical Progression Route will continue to help Guardians navigate the growing list of activities available through Fireteam Ops. With activities spanning multiple expansions and seasons, having a categorized reference can make it easier to identify what to play and where each activity fits into the larger experience.
Not everyone needs a guide, and that's okay.
But if you know a New Light who's struggling to understand the universe, or a returning Guardian trying to piece together the events they've missed, consider sharing The Lore Map of Destiny with them.
A little context can go a long way.
That's all for this week! I hope you're all looking forward to hopping into Festival of the Lost next week. We may also have a Challenge Pack to launch early from our Pit of tricks.
Until next time... Eyes up.
