This week in Destiny:
In case you somehow haven't heard the news... DESTINY IS BACK!
Bungie outlined their plans for the future of Destiny, Marathon and the studio in general, and they made it very clear... They aren't done with Destiny.
In the video, they say they aren't done with Destiny and that they have more stories to tell, but they need to do it right. They want to earn back our trust with actions rather than words, and that starts with the unvaulting of all the old Destiny 2 campaigns and raids.
This is an exciting new chapter for Destiny, and Bungie as a whole, and we are looking forward to whatever the future has to offer.
We aren't going anywhere. We plan to exist alongside Destiny in whatever form it takes, offering supplemental content and covering news.
We will continue to provide fun challenges and events for the community, and strive to live up to all of your expectations.

We're excited for you all to see what we're cooking with some of our events, and we'll be showing off our take on Festival of the Lost to you all in the coming weeks ahead of it's planned Oct 13th release.
We're all very excited about our 1-week events that we're sprinkling in across the year as well, the first of which just concluded.
This was our first ever 1-week event, and we LOVED how so many of you participated and interacted with the event.
It was great seeing so many of you gather groups together in our Discord to do Black Armory Vault of Glass and Grasp of Avarice runs, and we loved seeing the competitive spirit of the community come out with our first ever leaderboard competition and community challenge.
We set a community challenge to get 1,000,000 kills with Black Armory weapons as a community, and together you all smashed that goal into oblivion, reaching a final count of 2,994,542 kills.
In fact, one member of the community Lecii#2107 contributed over 300,000 kills ALONE. That is an insane feat which deserves recognition.
As promised in the previous Community TWID, you can all redeem a special emblem for breaking our stretch goal of 2,000,000 kills with Black Armory weapons. Here's the code: 2DU5-RU9S-J6FD
Not everything was perfect about this event, and we've learned a lot based on your feedback which we're taking into consideration for future events.
The leaderboard competition being based solely on kills encouraged sitting in the thrallway and killing shadow thrall with a Black Armory weapon far more than just playing activities with Black Armory weapons. We didn't want to change anything mid way through the week, and we even paid homage to it with the stretch goal emblem, but it's something that needs changing for future events.
We're looking at shifting to a points based system which accounts for more than just kills for future events, meaning completing activities, challenges and getting kills will all earn you points, with the best way to earn points being to fully interact with the game's activities in meaningful ways.
We're constantly learning and adapting and we strive to provide better experiences with each event we release. We hope you're all excited for what comes next.
The second wave of Challenge Packs are coming Tuesday September 29th.
For those of you who don't know, Challenge Packs are our custom Community Hub challenges for specific activities. We aim to release 7 challenge packs each month.
We had initially planned to preview one Challenge Pack each day this week, but we had to delay following the news about Destiny's revival, a lot of us became very busy so didn't have time to get the articles pushed out.
We will be dropping a big preview article on Sunday 27th September, previewing the other 6 challenge packs coming in wave 2.

We won't leave you empty handed in today's TWID though. Here's one emblem from each of the upcoming Challenge Packs. Please feel free to speculate about what challenge will be tied to each of these Community Hub emblems.
