This week in Destiny:
Our first ever week-long event is officially underway!
Arms Week is our new event format, inspired by Bungie's own Arms Weeks, designed to keep the community busy between our larger events like Solstice of Legends and Festival of the Lost. For our inaugural week, we've turned our attention to one of Destiny's most iconic foundries: Black Armory.
Since Tuesday, Guardians have been dusting off their favorite Black Armory weapons and putting them to work across our collection of personal and community challenges. Whether you've been tackling Black Armory-only activities, hunting down personal challenge emblems, or simply enjoying some time with your favorite weapons, we've loved seeing the community get involved.
You lot have certainly been busy...
Our community challenge set out to reach 1,000,000 kills with Black Armory weapons — and you've already smashed through it!
With the original goal completed, we're raising the stakes. If the community can double the goal and reach 2,000,000 Black Armory weapon kills, we'll release a code for a brand-new emblem to celebrate the achievement.
We've taken inspiration from the most popular method people have been using to get kills for the challenge... Kindled Orchid in the Shattered Throne's Thrallway.
If the community can manage doubling the original goal, we'll put a code out for this emblem in next week's TWID. Good luck! You can track progress on the event page.
As a reminder, those of you who contribute the most kills will be able to earn exclusive badges for your Community Hub profiles.

We are closely monitoring feedback surrounding the event to help shape future Arms Weeks and other events. We've identified a few pain points which will be adjusted in future events, and a few things that have worked very well, which we will emphasize going forwards.
So, what are you waiting for? Dust off those Black Armory weapons and get to killing!
Previews for the next wave of Challenge Packs will begin next week.
As a reminder, the following activities are getting Challenge Packs in this wave:
We're aiming to release a wave of 7 Challenge Packs every month, with additional ones dropping alongside our 3-week seasonal events like Festival of the Lost (which will feature a small mini wave of Challenge Packs)
Previews will begin next Monday, with the aim to release this wave of Challenge Packs on Tuesday September 29th.
The Gambit Tournament Hub is hosting a Gambit Tournament— and there’s a $2,000 USD prize pool on the line.
The tournament is open to everyone, whether you’re a seasoned Gambit veteran or just looking for an excuse to jump into the action. And if you don’t have a full team, the Gambit Tournament Hub has a Free Agent system to help players find a team or fill those final spots.
Games will be cast throughout the tournament, giving everyone the chance to follow the action as teams battle their way through the bracket and compete for their share of the prize pool.
