This week in Destiny:
This week, the D2 Community Hub received one of its biggest updates yet, introducing new ways to track your Destiny journey and take on challenges across the site.
The Director has received a major upgrade to objective tracking, allowing us to create more detailed Triumphs based on everything from weapon kills and activity clears to fireteam sizes and community-wide goals. Progress tracking is now also much faster, with updates appearing within minutes of completing an activity. This lays the foundation for the upcoming Challenge Packs, which are coming very soon.
We're also introducing Quests, a new multi-stage challenge system that will allow Guardians to progress through objectives, unlock new stages, and earn rewards along the way. While the system is now live, the first Quests will arrive in a future update.
The biggest addition, however, is the Guardian Record. Available for any Destiny player, the Guardian Record provides a detailed look at your Destiny history, including activity statistics, weapon usage, playtime, fireteam history, and much more. You can even search for other Guardians by their Bungie name and view shareable PGCRs for individual activities.
RaDdle is now fully integrated with the D2 Community Hub, allowing daily games, streaks, and Arcade completions to contribute towards Triumphs. The game has also received a visual refresh alongside improvements such as light mode, spoiler mode, colorblind-friendly partial matches, and better mobile support.
Finally, we've also made a range of improvements based on community feedback, including a redesigned cosmetic picker, better profile customization, improved mobile functionality, and continued work on higher-quality custom Emblem and Banner assets.
You can read all about the update in greater detail over on the Dev Insights blog post:
Starting tomorrow, Friday, August 28th, Guardians will be able to take on the first wave of Challenge Packs, bringing a new collection of challenges to activities across Destiny 2. Each Pack offers a range of objectives designed to test different skills and playstyles, from straightforward challenges to tougher feats that might push you outside your comfort zone.
Complete challenges to earn exclusive rewards for your D2 Community Hub profile, including Emblems, Banners, Badges, and Community Triumph Score. The first wave features seven Challenge Packs spanning everything from raids and dungeons to Crucible, Gambit, Trials of Osiris, and Dares of Eternity.
The first wave of Challenge Packs arrives tomorrow. Study up ahead of time with the Challenge Pack previews:
Last week, we officially launched the D2 Community Hub Creator Program, created to celebrate and support the creators who have helped shape the Destiny community.
Whether you've spent years creating guides, entertaining Guardians, diving into the lore, producing art, or building a community around Destiny, the program is designed to recognize the passion and contributions that creators bring to the game.
Creators who join the program can look forward to an exclusive Discord role, opportunities to be featured across the Community Hub and TWID, social media spotlights, collaborations, and more. We're also welcoming former official Destiny 2 Creators into the program, recognizing everything they've already contributed to the community.
We're excited to see where the program goes from here, and to work alongside even more of the amazing people continuing to create, inspire, and bring the Destiny community together.
Of course, becoming a member of the Creator Program comes with some exclusive rewards too.
Members of the Creator Program will receive an exclusive Creator Profile Emblem, giving them a unique way to represent their place in the D2 Community Hub Creator Program. Below are the emblems and banners you will receive for your Community Hub profile for being a part of the program:
We're also excited to introduce the Creator Jersey. Inspired by the Community Hub's visual identity, the jersey features a Destiny-inspired design alongside exclusive Creator branding.
The jersey isn't automatically included with the program, but approved Creators will have the opportunity to purchase one for themselves if they want to represent the program beyond their profile.
It does also come with a cool emblem, check it out:
Want to help support the D2 Community Hub? Our Patreon gives you a way to directly support the work we’re doing while unlocking some extra perks along the way.
There’s only ONE WEEK left to become an Early Supporter! Anyone who joins any Patreon tier before September 3rd will receive the exclusive Early Supporter Emblem and Early Supporter Badge as a thank-you for helping us get the Hub off the ground.
Any amount of support is greatly appreciated, and it's thanks to all of our incredible supporters that we've been able to grow the site so much over the past month. We would like to thank you so much, a lot of what we've done would not be possible without your support.
Iron Banner is back until weekly reset! Make sure you hop in and earn some rewards.
As a reminder, Challenge Packs go live tomorrow, so make sure you hop into some Iron Banner matches to knock out some of your Iron Lord's Rite challenges. Here's a few of the rewards you can earn:
I will admit, it has been very fun watching people hunt some of my hidden emblems.
As usual, if you don't have your rewards by Sunday, please message lxke (LukeCB14) on Discord and I will get it sorted.
Sorry about the delay on last week's rewards, hopefully everyone should have their codes now! Let me know if you're still expecting one!
It's time to talk about our upcoming categories for future TWIDs!
This week's theme is: Medieval! Show us your best medieval fits!
Dude to a lack of interest in the focused categories, we will soon be depreciating them. We will finish out the set we have already announced though.
Instead, we will occasionally host special TWID contests in the future and any rewards from focused categories will be granted through those instead.
| Community TWID | Focused Category |
|---|---|
| Community TWID #5 | Build of the Week |
| Community TWID #6 | Crucible Clip of the Week |
For build of the week, please submit it under the class builds section of our Discord. Please make sure you attach a video of the build in action to be eligible to win.
That's all for this week. I hope you're all looking forward to tackling our Challenge Packs tomorrow!
